About Charles Faudree

Charles Faudree's nearly four decades as an interior designer have allowed him to work throughout the United States and Europe. His designs have appeared in numerous publications including Veranda, House Beautiful, Southern Accents, Traditional Home, Renovation Style, House and Garden, and Country Living. Additionally, his work is displayed in a variety of decorating books such as Garden Style, Country Living, Country Kitchens, Creative Ideas for Decorating, Decorating by Southern Living, Southern Accents Christmas, House Beautiful Christmas, Provencal, and Holiday Homes. Charles is also featured as one of eight designers in the book Traditional Homes Signature Style. He accepted the award for Traditional Home's Designer of the Year in 1995 and was chosen as one of the "Top Designers in America" by House Beautiful in 2002, 2003 and 2004.

Charles' first book, Charles Faudree's French Country Signature, was released by Gibbs Smith Publishers to wide acclaim in 2003 and is now in its ninth printing with over 50,000 copies sold. While he has promoted the book in lectures around the country, USA Today has joined many shelter magazines in writing feature articles on this work, as well. A second book, Charles Faudree's Country French Living was released in 2005. His third and fourth books were released in 2008, Charles Faudree Country French Florals and Interiors with Toni Garner in the spring and Charles Faudree Interiors in September. Charles also launched a fabric line with Vervain/Fabricut in September of 2008.

Founded in 1970, Charles' interior design studio and retail shop are located in Tulsa, Okla. Much like Charles' signature rooms, the Charles Faudree store features an eclectic mix of the casual and the formal, the old and the new. Customers are sure to find many unique items, each one hand selected by Charles during his frequent buying excursions. Although the inventory is always changing, constant staples of the store include Provencal commodes, Chinoiserie tables, Swedish style armoires and Staffordshire figurines. As a natural selection of Charles' design practice, the retail space is a celebration of contradiction. It is not uncommon to find Louis the XV chairs flanking a table made of sand and seashells. As Charles likes to say, "It's all about the mix, not the match."
